If there was no 1040 for 2018, can the Federal form be straightened out so that we can e-file?

Both my husband & I were receiving SSI disability last year. Why can't we e-file?

If that is your only income then it is totally non-taxable and you must have some income to e-file.

If you really want to e-file go to Interest income and enter $1 of income.

Then you can e-file the return.

IRS does not care you over reported the income by $1.
