If my daughter was full time student in 2018, we paid her college, then graduated in May and was married in June, moved away in July, should we claim her as a dependent?

With new tax laws, i wasn't sure it would reduce our tax liability to claim her as a dependent and based on our income level if we can get tuition credit. adjusted gross over 150K.

Also-would it benefit her more to not be claimed as a dependent, as she and her husband wanted to file as married filing jointly.

THANKS for some help

The best thing to do is for both couples to prepare their taxes both ways and see how the family comes out best overall, before filing, It's your daughter's choice, in the end.
