If I worked as an independent contractor for a total of 2 days in 2024 (made $75) do I need to record that for my 2024 taxes? I didn't submit my invoice until 1/31/25.

I submitted my first invoice for the company on January 31, 2025 which included working December 30th & 31st of 2024 but those were the only two days I worked for as a contractor in 2024 and I only worked 3 hours for a total of $75. Do I need to ask my employer to provide me a 1099 for those two days I worked in 2024 so I can report that on my 2024 taxes?

Probably not. If you are a cash basis tax payer, you will record the income in 2025 when you billed the customer and were paid.

Here is some more information: What is the cash method of accounting?
