If i purchase a download from amazon will it nerge with my present account

The term "account" suggests the use on an online version.

But "download" suggest a desktop version, and you've indicated that you're using "desktop" TurboTax Deluxe.

Is the situation that you started using TurboTax online but now want to continue, using a desktop version?

I think I wasted $50.  I want all my tax records on-line.

Or at least pull from last years on-line and import into the desktop version - which it implies can be done - but not working.

If you purchased a download from Amazon it would be for desktop software, which you only download to your own hard drive.  You do not log in to an online TurboTax account to use desktop software.  You simply download it and open the program from your own computer. 

And your tax files will not be stored online.  They will only be on your own hard drive or any back up device you use.
