If I paid my taxes using 1040es should I continue or pay remainder balance using credit card?

The 1040ES is not for paying your tax due.  If that's  what you thought you were paying it is wrong.  You pay a Tax Due with a single 1040 V voucher. 

 

The 1040 ES slips are estimates to prepay your 2024 return we file next year.  

 

Yes, you can pay a tax due or estimates any way you want.  You can switch and pay online or send in a check.

So if you thought you were paying the Tax Due in 4 payments using the 1040ES slips you have NOT paid anything towards the 2023 Tax Due.  You might still owe the full amount and the IRS will be sending you a bill for the whole amount.
