We only had marketplace insurance for January of 2024, cancelled it mid month due to husband getting insurance through work. On our 1095-a form, it shows dollar amounts in boxes A, B, and C of January row, and zero amount in boxes A and B of the February row, but there is a dollar amount in box C of the February row. The rest of the year, March through December are blank, yet I am getting a red error between the February and March rows that says "Must be greater than $0". It will not let me proceed. I am not sure what to do. Help?
You can not enter 0 in Column B, even if you did not have coverage for that period. If you did not have coverage for the month, you will still enter the second lowest cost silver plan in Column B. If your 1095-A does not have the amount listed, you will need to contact the Marketplace to determine the second lowest cost silver plan.
Hi, I just ran across this myself. If the column has 0, you have to find what the second lowest cost of the Silver plan (SLCSP) premiums and enter it in the column. To do this go to the tax tool section of marketplace and it will walk you through a few screens (birthday, household #, zip code, months received) and give you the number. Good luck! I was surprised about the need for this extra step.
