If you want direct deposit of your refund, you must give the IRS your bank information so they can make the deposit. You must provide the bank account routing number and account number.

Hello,  no, you also have to have your routing number.  If you do not have it, you can "Google" it.  Just type in "what is the routing number for XXX Bank?", putting your bank's name in there of course.  That will give you  your routing number.

You can usually get the routing number from the banks website.  They might have different routing numbers for deposits and payments.

If you are getting a refund and the number is wrong the IRS will mail a check to the address on your return.
