If I delete an unused form, my tax due increases dramatically. I have both nj and nys taxes. Deleting an empty w-2 that from last year causes my nj tax to jump. why?

Perhaps the W-2 that you deleted wasn't blank? You may want to review the data that you put into TurboTax to ensure that it is correct before filing your returns. While in TurboTax follow these steps:

While in your Tax Home,
Tax Tools on the left hand side of your screen,
Select Tools,
Select View Tax Summary,
Select Preview my 1040 on the left hand side of your screen.
Select State Tax Summary on the left hand side of your screen.
