if i became unemployed this year, should i still put my previous occupation for the money earned that is being taxed? or should i put my current occupation status

"Occupation" is only used for statistical purposes; it has no effect on your refund or tax due.   You can use whatever occupation you had that provided you with income.   Just make sure you enter ALL of your 2024 income on the same tax return, including any unemployment benefits you received.
