If I am a Diesel Technician for a trucking company, would i be considered in the transportation industry?

I work for a major trucking company as a diesel technician, i fix the trucks but do not go on route for deliverys

You would not.  A Diesel Technician is not subject to DOT Hours of Service rules and is not away from home, on business, overnight.
