I was supposed to get a refund and now I owe over $3k in federal taxes

I am married filing jointly. I had entered all of our wages (including my 6 months of unemployment) and was told I would owe over $3k in federal taxes. After the new laws were pasted regarding the taxation of unemployment, I logged back in last week and found out we would now receive a $42 refund. Hooray! But when I logged in yesterday to file, the refund had disappeared and we owe $3k again. What happened? I didn't change any income numbers. I did say that I didn't have health insurance for 6 months. Could that have changed? Please help!

Review your return in Tools.  You can review your 1040 in the following steps:

  1. While in your TurboTax account, select Tax Tools in the left margin
  2. Select Tools
  3. Select View a Tax Summary
  4. In the left margin, select Preview my 1040
  5. Scroll down and review your 1040, Schedule 1,2,3
  6. Review 1040 lines 34 - 37
  7. On Schedule 1, review line 8 for unemployment adjustment.

This is your actual return in TurboTax.  The refund amount might be different than the indicator.
