I was paid for a gig job and the company that payed me also payed my assistant on the same check. Now I have a 1099 NEC from them for both amounts (mine and assistant)

What is the best way about doing this. IRS online says I had to file online before January 31st. I tried going through their portal but is asking for EIN which I dont have.

Quick Employer Forms will report an IRS form 1099-NEC to the assistant using your Social Security number.

Do you have the Social Security number and address of the assistant?

@JamesG1 Yes I have their info as well is this an additional service? Will it ask me if I hired anyone or do I just click on quick employer forms?

It is free if it is used through your TurboTax return/account.  See this TurboTax Help.
