TurboTax may ask if you are preparing a return for someone else who is incarcerated. If you were incarcerated for part of 2024, and you already entered what state(s) you lived in during 2024 and what dates in the Personal Info section, that should be all the program needs. You can return to the Personal Info section of TurboTax to review the questions and answers if you would like to check them over.
If you earned income while incarcerated, that income won't count for purposes of determining whether you are entitled to the Earned Income Credit for 2024. See this TurboTax article for more information regarding the Earned Income Credit.
