I was deployed in a combat zone for from 16 Jan to 06 Jun of 2017. Turbo Tax only asked for the first date? I'd need to enter both as only those months are tax free?

The necessary "tax-free" calculations for your combat zone pay are already included in your DFAS Form W-2 - you don't need to provide the beginning and ending dates for the deployment. The "tax-free" combat pay is reported in Box 12 of the W-2, with Code Q and is not included in Box 1 of the W-2, with the rest of your taxable military pay

(I'm not exactly sure why the TurboTax program even asks for the starting date, other than to let the program know what other interview questions should get asked).
