I want to understand why I owe taxes this year if the only thing that change was another job? I get paid less there and added up I still only work a complete 30-39 hours.

1. My taxes and everything still get withheld and taken out of all my checks 2. I did claim people this year but I have the last 2/3 Years 3. Like mentioned, I make less at this job and is technically an extension of my main job (line cook) I just have to be under their payroll since I’m at their location 4. I don’t work extra hours or anything over 40/42 hours a week for the most part unless we’re understaffed so my combined work hours will always be 36-40 hours Did I do something wrong in my tax form or was there some kind of mistake made?

Compare your 2023 return to the 2024. More income means more taxes, which can affect tax credits, itemized deductions, alternative minimum tax, and other tax items. Also, an incorrectly completed w-4 can result in under-withholding.
