I want to e-file, but several lines on my 1040 are blank. For example, line 6 is blank, but it won't fill in because I have no income to report. How can I report 0 inc?

If you received no income of any kind in 2018 then there is no need for you to file a tax return.

I need to file a tax return in order to confirm to loan companies that I have 0 income for income based repayment plans.

Hi deancdettloff, It sounds like you might not need to file a tax return this year. Have a read through this article, it has a lot of great info about whether you need to file your return:

The IRS requires certain lines to have amounts to be able to efile the tax return. If you need to file your return for another reason, you will need to print the return and file it by mail.
