I want to allow my dad to claim me this year when i claimed myself last year, do i still file taxes so that i can check the box to be eligible to be claimed a dependent?

If you are your dad's dependent then you will have to mark on your return that you are claimed by someone else. Please follow the instructions below:

1. Login to your TurboTax Account 
2. Click "Take Me To My Return"
3. Click "My Info" from the left side of your screen
4. Click “Edit” next to your name
5. Please scroll down to “3. A few other things we need to know” and check the answer under “Someone else can claim me as a dependent on their tax return”
