I used Turbo Tax just as i have for the last 5 years. Same job and no changes. The only thing different was my direct deposit info. Why did i get a 5071c?

I went on irs site and started the process, but they cant even verify the phone number i am using and have had for over 15 yrs.

You could have been selected at random for Identity Verification. Or, it might be due to the new banking info, especially if your refund is large.
