I used an account for 2017 taxes and I found the efile pin that was used then. I saw in help that efile pin numbers have ben discontinued. What replaces them?

your Agi from prior year plus you make a new pin. If your rejected for your
agi and you have an ammeded return you have to use the origanl agi not the amended agi that amount will be on your amended agi  form
