If you received income from self employment, then you are self employed, and you have to report your income that way.
Here's how to enter your 1099-K in TurboTax:
If you are entering income from a 1099-K, remember that it reports the gross amount of the transactions. It doesn't include any adjustments for credits, refunds, discounts, fees, etc. You’ll have a chance to enter any business expenses like fees and all other expenses in another part of your return.

Thank you. I am actually NOT self employed, which is why i am asking.
the money i received was through a Kickstarter fundraiser. they gave me a 1099K EVEN THOUGH i am not self employed. i do not have a business.
i think i figured it out for now anyway. thanks
Although you might not consider yourself self-employed, the issuance of a Form 1099-K might suggest to the IRS that you are.
Just FYI, please see the TurboTax Help articles "Am I considered self-employed?" and “What Online Business Owners Should Know about IRS Form 1099-K” for guidance.
