I thought it was free to file until Feb. 18th, so why are you all charging me?

I'm using the app and it's still charging me $128

Same!!! I was charged $49, and then another $50 something later when I made edits to add earnings. All done before feb 18th, like the ad says. Customer service said I didn't qualify because I needed forms related to owning a home. I'm sorry, what? The ad says $0, ANY FORMS, ANY SITUATION as long as you use the app and didn't file with them last year. Misleading again! Last time using this service!!!

You need to start your return from the offer page.

I am in the same boat. It is trying to charge me $128 as well. I meet all the terms of the offer. I started on the mobile app, I didn't file with Turbo Tax last year, I used "do it yourself" mode, and I went to file through the mobile app as well.

I called support and the agent knew nothing about the offer. She talked to someone behind the scenes extensively, tried applying a service code that didn't work. Then 52 minutes later she "transferred" me to another agent, but also closed my ticket at the same time, so that agent could not help and made me start all over with a new call.

Also it looks like they have shifted the deadline to 2/28 now.

So basically this FALSE advertisement????????

Given the number of people posting about this very problem in forums and on their facebook postings, it seems to be affecting a lot of people.  

I'm on my fourth agent in the past two hours and still no progress. None of them know how this offer works and can do anything about it.

I know it seems dumb and frustrating but if you didn't start your taxes in the app or if you started without using the tile at the beginning to get the promo, then it makes you pay.

But, there is a workaround. You can clear your return and start over. A pain in the rear, but it worked for me.

It has never been free. I've been getting charged for years. They are liars!!!!
