I started working for Wag! (dog walking) in 2017 but only made $188. Technically, I would need to file taxes as self-employment but is it worth it itemizing my expenses?

If your earnings from dog walking represent all your income for 2017, you do not need a file a tax return as they are below $400.

If you have other income and have to file a tax return, then you need to include this income and you can deduct related expenses,

For that small amount adding expenses won't help much so you don't need to upgrade all the way to the Self Employed version .  You can enter Self Employment Income into Online Deluxe or Premier but if you have any expenses you will have to upgrade to the Self Employed version.

Or There is also The Turbo Tax Freedom website which is free for federal and state.  And has more forms than the Federal Free Edition, like the full 1040 return and Schedules A, B, C , D, E, F, EIC, H, K-1, SE,  etc.
To qualify for the Tax Freedom website  you just need to meet one of these 3 things

AGI $33,000 or less
Active duty military with AGI of $64,000 or less
OR qualify for EIC (earned income credit)
Those amounts are from 2016, I don't know the 2017 amounts

In order to use the Tax Freedom Edition, you have to start it at a special website:

Do not sign in at the top.  Use the bottom I QUALIFY START NOW
and set up a new account or it will take you back to regular Turbo Tax.
