I select review on my state taxes, I get an error. It asks me to enter total rent paid. I do that. I still have have 1 error telling me to leave it blank. It is a cycle.

It tells me to enter the information on line 6 for total rent paid. I do that. It then tells me to leave line 6 blank. I do that. It tells me to enter total rent paid. It keeps going on and on. What am I missing?

First, try updating your program as there may have been some forms that were not yet available that could have resulted in you receiving this error message.

 

If you are using the desktop product, make sure your program is updated.  This can be done by logging into your desktop product.  Select Online in the menu on the top, and then select Check for Updates.

 

 

If that does not update your program, you can also manually update your program.

 

If you are preparing your return using TurboTax Online, the program should be updated.

 

Next, be sure to review this link to make sure your state offers a renter's credit.
