I recently filed taxes on turbotax on the 14th. I added my payment method to pay for taxes owed this year. Should i pay directly on the IRS website or wait for Turbotax

Does Turbotax wait for the Federal Tax Return to be accepted by the IRS first and then pay the taxes owed on my behalf? If so, i'm worried my payment will be late. Should i just pay what Turbotax states i owe directly on the IRS website instead?

Yes, TurboTax would wait for IRS acceptance before releasing any payment to them. No, do not make a payment directly to the IRS website if you provided payment information with your tax return. Wait for the acceptance text or email.

If you filed your tax return the payment will not be considered late. Do not make a payment online until you are sure your payment is not made. The IRS is and will be very busy for the next few days, which means they may actually debit your account a day or so late. There is no need for concern.
