I received this code to fix: Reject Code IL1040-8600-2 I don't know what this means or where to fix what ever it is.

What this means is that the driver's license or state ID info you entered on the Illinois e-file agreement doesn't match what's on file with the Illinois Department of Revenue for the first person listed on the return.

You can either correct your Illinois driver's license/state ID information, or use a different signature verification method on your Illinois return. Follow the link to get instructions on how to fix the rejection:

How can I sign my name again so it matches my Illinois license

Go back to the File section of your return and re-enter your Driver's License/state ID information.

 

Alternatively, go to the website for Illinois taxpayers and under Inquiries> IL-PIN Inquiry, double-check that your PIN matches their database.

 

You may need to paper-file Illinois your return this year.
