I received 1099-B from my broker with almost 100 transactions(attached is a part of it with no sensitive data). From instructions to form 8949, I understand that I need to individually list all transactions that had adjustments(like a wash sale), but I can skip that form for stock sales that had no adjustments and group them on Schedule D.
From attached doc, can I just list 3 transactions marked with red, that had wash sale and list them on form 8949 and group the rest of transactions as a sum and make one entry for them on Schedule D and how do I do that online? Thanks
Yes, you can enter your Stock Sales from category totals shown on your 1099-B.
TurboTax creates the Form 8949 from your entries, and the IRS has a copy of your 1099-B so you don't have to do anything further.
Here's how to do that:
Thanks. Category totals include wash sales and according to form 8949 instructions those need to be listed separately. So do i first need to subtract all wash sales transaction amounts from each category total where a wash sale is present before entering them and the list all wash sale transactions individually?
Yes, you can do that, here's more info: <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/3301806">https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/3301806</a>
