I received $1,558 for caring for my elderly aunt in 2021. Do I enter it as misc income?

she just paid me by check

Yes. According to Turbo Tax, contributor RichardG, The income you receive as a caregiver for a family member is taxable income, but it is not subject to self-employment tax. Please go to Federal Taxes>Wages & Income>Less Common Income>Miscellaneous Income>Other Reportable Income to report this income.
