I put the wrong address number on my taxes anyone know how to change it before there sent out?

If you return has already been accepted, you will need to contact the IRS to update your address. You can use IRS Form 8822, Change of Address (form and instructions) to notify them of an address change. You can also call them at 1-800-829-1040.

If your return has not been efile yet or has been rejected:

  • Go  My Info
  • On the Personal info summary screen, scroll down and click the pencil next to Mailing Address
  • You will be able to update your address on the next screen
