I purchased and downloaded turbotax premier with 5 federal filing and 1 state filing. When I go to file my taxes it wants to charge me for filing.why am I being charged?

Are you being charged the $25 to efile a state return?  Each State including the first one  is $25 to efile.  In the Desktop program it is a free state PROGRAM  Download to prepare unlimited returns in that state.  Then   it is $20/25 to efile each state return (except NY is free)  or you can print and mail state for free.  

TurboTax Premier includes 5 federal e-files and one state download. This means you can prepare and print unlimited returns for one state at no extra cost. If you need additional states there will be an additional charge.
