And...why are you waiting to pay?   Tax due was supposed to be paid by April 15, 2025, so your payment is late and will be subject to interest owed.

If you owe tax due, you have to pay it yourself by the filing deadline on April 15, 2025.

If you have federal tax due you can pay by mailing your payment with the 1040V voucher, (which has the address printed on it, having the payment taken out of a designated bank account, or you can pay directly on the IRS website.

You must pay your state tax due using the state’s preferred method of receiving payment.  For most states that will be by making a payment to the state’s own tax website, or by mailing a check or money order.

Look at the Turbo Tax cover sheet.   How did you select to pay the tax due?   Did you enter your bank account for the IRS to pull it out?   Maybe the IRS had trouble taking it.   Double check the routing number and account number with your bank.  Some banks use different routing numbers for deposits and payments.

I didn't know I was going to owe. I did not have the full amount on hand, so I couldn't pay.

I followed all the other directions on the IRS website, set up a payment plan etc. I am confused why there is no balance showing. I do not want to get into a situation where I pay and it ends up in no man's land because I didn't have a balance......

Told that the balance would show up shortly and to wait until it did before I made payment.

So you're telling me to go on to the IRS website and just make a payment for the amount I owe, without there being a balance?

Please see this link from the IRS.  I recommend contacting the IRS directly for further assistance to confirm the status of your payment plan request.
