Form 1095-A is for people who have health insurance through the Health Insurance Marketplace, often called an exchange. This form is to reconcile your Premium Tax Credit; you claim it by filing Form 8962 with your tax return. You'll need your Form 1095-A to fill out this form.
Here's how to enter your 1095-A in TurboTax:
Open (continue) your return if you don't already have it open.
In the upper right, search for 1095-A.
Select the Jump to link in the search results.
Answer Yes on the Did you receive Form 1095-A for your health insurance plan? screen and Continue.
Enter your 1095-A info on the next screen and select Continue. We don't need all the info from your 1095-A, so we'll only ask about the info that affects your return.
Are you asking about questions in the Massachusetts state interview? Normally if you have private insurance in MA, the insurance company provides you with a 1099-HC form.
If the insurance you received through the health connector wasn't government-subsidized, and you didn't receive a 1099-HC, complete the Massachusetts Health Insurance interview as follows:
Enter the insurance company name and your subscriber number, but leave the federal identification number blank. Check the box "I didn't receive a 1099-HC from this insurance company". You may see an error during the state review, which you can ignore.
