I never received a 1095-C. My refund was delayed. I just received a notice from the IRS asking for copy of 1095-A. I get my insurance through my job not the Marketplace.

Who is supposed to send out the 1095-C? My employer or my health insurance company? I asked my HR department who informed me they do not mail out 1095-Cs. And why is the IRS asking for a 1095-A when they should already have a 1095-C on file. I was scheduled to receive my refund weeks ago and don't know how to resolve this.

Here is the information on the 1095-A you requested

Here's a copy of the 1095-c

Now, I would contact your local IRS office about the situation as they have tax advocates that you can actually sit down and talk to whom can help you resolve these issues. From what I'm gathering the IRS may not have a 1095 c on file for you OR your SSN could be on a Marketplace policy. In any case you should really follow up with the IRS as soon as possible.

Thank you. I finally received my 1095-C in the mail yesterday from my employer. I was on a Marketplace Plan in 2015 but for all 12 months of 2016 I was on my employer's plan. Do I still need to respond to the letter from the IRS? I'm assuming they will have a copy of my 1095-C as well by now. There is no local IRS office near me.

I would make a formal response just to make sure that everything is as it should be. Keep a copy of the response for your records and if there is any further actions required on your part the IRS will send you very precise instructions. I'm so glad you received your 1095-C. I hope that relieved some stress!

I am currently going through the EXACT same thing I had coverage in 2015 but not at all in 2016, but the IRS is holding my refund. I have talked with someone (IRS) on three different occasions. I faxed my actual 1095 C in and they SAY my refund should be released in 6 weeks from the date they received the fax. Not feeling very confident about that.
