I never got my W2s for a job I did in 2020. I'm trying to figure out where I can self submit the amount I made. I have the total.

I don't have the employer ID and can't get ahold of anyone in the office of the company that supposedly sent them out. But I do have my pay stubs so can I just submit the total amount and name of the company?? Where do I do this?

You will have to file a paper return that includes IRS Form 4852 if all efforts to obtain a W-2 from your employer have failed. Please follow these steps:

  1. Login to your TurboTax Account

Click on "Search" on the top right and type “W-2”

    Click on “Jump to W-2”

  2. Fill out your W-2 as best you can using the information from your last pay stub.
  3. Answer any questions until you get to the "Let's check for uncommon situations" screen.
  4. Check the box next to "Didn't get a W-2" and select "Continue".
  5. On the "Let's check if you need a substitute W-2" screen, select "Yes" then "Continue".
  6. Answer the follow-up questions.

Please see What if it's February but I still don't have my W-2? for additional information.

You might have to file an extension if you need more time to file: How do I file an IRS extension (Form 4868) in TurboTax Online? Please be aware, any balance due still has to be paid by May 17th, 2021.
