You need to print out a copy of the AZ-8879, sign it, and keep for your records.  Since your actual return can't be signed (because it's being e-filed) form 8879 serves as an authorization (or electronic signature) for your return.  AZ-8879 should be signed before the transmission of the return.

To print the AZ-8879 please follow these steps:
  1. Click on TaxTools > Print Center in the black bar at the side of your screen.
  2. On the TurboTax Print Center screen, click Print, save or preview this year's return.
  3. Mark the box(es) for 2018 [state] returns and your state, if amending it as well.
  4. In the next section, select Just my tax returns.
  5. Click on the  View or print forms box.
  6. When the print screen comes up you can select the pages to be printed.

I received the same email, and found there was nothing to do on the Turbo Tax website to my AZ return, just shows pending.  To clarify: are you saying that the efile is already done and it is already being sent to AZ, and the request to sign the form is JUST for MY records??  I want to make sure this return is not held up in any way, as I did it several days ago, and my Federal return already shows accepted.  Thank you.

I have the same problem.  The form was not available when I filed my taxes, but just received an email that it is now available and to go back to Turbotax and complete.  I can't find it anywhere on Turbotax and my AZ state return also shows as "pending".  What do we do????

Do I have to do anything with the AZ-8879 form after it’s signed? Looks like it just gets kept with the rest of my copy of tax returns. Can you confirm for me?

Form is only for your records.
