I need to file 2017. which I need to purchase for 79.99 my boyfriend needs to file 2017 as well, can I use that download for multiple users or do I need to purchase twice

Yes the Desktop program can do unlimited returns.  Be sure to save each return and save frequently.   To start a new return go to File-New.  You have to print and mail prior year returns.
