I need some advice on how to stop the irs from intercepting my tax refund due to backpay child support. Part of my check gets garnished every paycheck?

Can I file for hardship so the irs doesn't take away my tax return? Due to child support backpay?

There isn't a way to stop this. You can call the number below to know what they will intercept.

The IRS and State Governments have the ability to offset a refund to pay for certain past due debts.  You generally will receive a letter stating what the offset was for.

The IRS provides a toll-free number, (800) 304-3107, to call for information about tax offsets.
