I started my return in April. It is now December and I'm still trying to file my return. I had to pay $80 to download the desktop app to file my return and it took my money and doesn't work on my computer. I can't do anything at all. I need to file my taxes so I can file my FAFSA...now.
E-filing for 2023 is permanently closed. It closed at the end of October. The only way you can file your 2023 return now is by mail. You have to print it, sign and date it in ink, and mail it in.
Did you try to download the desktop software to a computer that does not meet the system requirements? You can only use that software on a full PC or Mac--not on any sort of mobile device. Do you have a friend or family member who can let you use their computer to finish preparing the return?
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

No one in the user forum can see your return or check it for you.
If you are using one of the "live" online versions of the software then your expert can check your return---that is part of what you are paying for if you have "Live". Or----you can upgrade to "Live" if you want an expert to review your return. If you are using desktop download software you can pay $60 to have an expert review your return.
