I moved to the UK and got married...how do I file my taxes here?

I worked in the US during the spring, then moved to the Uk to get married in the autumn.

So now I'm confused as to how to file my taxes on TurboTax because it asks where I moved to and only seems to provide US states; and when I tell it I'm married, it then expects me to list a US citizen (with a social security number) when that's not my situation.

Am I just not able to file with TurboTax this time?

Congratulations on your marriage!

Yes - you can still TurboTax for your tax return.  To enter a foreign address, please follow these steps:

  1. While in your return, click My Info in the black bar on the left of the screen.
  2. On the Your personal information screen, in #2,Tell us the state(s) you live in,  select Foreign or U.S. Possession.
  3. Back on the Personal Info Summary screen, under Mailing Address, select Foreign Country from the box.

The quick solution to the SSN issue is to enter a (temporary) placeholder Social Security Number for your husband.  A number you can use for this purpose is 999-88-9999.
