You can import tax files into TurboTax Desktop/CD/Download version, but not TurboTax Online.  You can only ''export'' tax files from TurboTax Online.

TurboTax Online will allow the import of some tax documents (1099s or W-2s), but not tax files or PDFs.  Online will only transfer data from previous returns that are already in TurboTax Online.

Has this been fixed?  anyway we can get this feature so that I may upload my K1 .txf info instead of manually typing it all in for Turbotax online? thanks.

You can import a *.tax file from the CD version into the Online version.

  1. on the main menu click on TAX TOOLS
  2. Then select TOOLS
  3. Then select Transfer last year's TurboTax return from your computer.

You can only import a K-1 to the Desktop CD/Download Software, not to Online version and if you can get a .txf file for it and in the right format.   Apparently you can only import K-1s for MLPs and not Trusts or Estates.   You can not import a K-1 from Turbo Tax Business Program.
