I’m not sure what to do.

So I’ve filed federal and state and have been accepted but I have a second W-2 from another state in which I believe is an part-year but I can’t add it, I have search about how can I add the other W-2 to my files that already have been accepted but can’t find how to add it. I tried do it but i brings me to some “general info”, “income”, etc when I have not done none of that and I only have my W-2... What do I need to do?

You won't be able to amend your tax return until the IRS releases the 1040-X Amendment form for 2019. The IRS estimate for issuing the 1040X form is mid February.

Additionally, make sure that your 2019 return was accepted in TurboTax Online or paper-filed through the mail.

To prepare an amended return through TurboTax, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to TurboTax.
  2. Scroll down to Your tax return & documents (you may need to select Show), select 2019 and then Amend (change) return.
  3. Select Amend using TurboTax Online.
  4. Carefully follow the instructions. Don't worry if your refund changes to $0. This is normal on amended returns.
  5. When finished, we'll give you instructions for printing and mailing your amended return as amendments can't be e-filed.

Three weeks after mailing your amended return, you can start tracking it at the IRS Where's My Amended Return? tracking tool.  Please allow at least 16 weeks for the IRS to process your amended return.

Processing times for amended state returns vary from state to state. If it's been more than 12 weeks since you mailed your amended state return, and you haven't heard anything, we suggest you contact your state tax agency.

If you have used Turbo Tax, just go back in to your original return and file an amended return for both Federal and the state return.

Try these steps to recover your User ID or password:

  1. Go to our account recovery page.
  2. Enter one of the following:
    • Phone number (recommended)
    • Email address
    • User ID
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Once you’re done, we’ll either send you a code to help you recover your account, or show/send you a list of accounts associated with your info.

  • If you’re still unable to recover your account, select Try something else on the Account Recovery page. We’ll ask additional questions to verify your identity.

Keep in mind: Once you’re back in your account, make sure to include or update your phone number. Doing so helps increase account security and ease account recovery.

Once you are back into your account, you can check what W-2's you entered into TurboTax by following these steps:

  1. Why at your Tax Home,
  2. Select Wages & Income,
  3. Select Review/Edit,
  4. Select Edit next to W-2,
  5. Here you can review the W-2's or add another.
