I'm international, and I don't think I qualify for the stimulus check, since I didn't have any. I want to know if everything is good on my taxes, and I have done no error

Since I work in Ohio, but live in West Virginia, I would like to know if I've done all right. Is my federal taxes good, since I'm an international. My W2 will be basic, because I only had one job, so I prefer the free version. Help

Welcome to the US, and yes, you can do a simple return, either on Turbo Tax or somewhere else. Watch out for the sneaky marketing to get you to spend a little extra!

What type of visa are you on?

If you have stayed in the US for more than 183 days during 2020 or met the Substantial Presence Test  SPT, you are considered as a US resident for tax purposes.  You are required to file a Form 1040 reporting worldwide income including your W-2.  You can use TurboTax to complete your filing. If you only have a W-2, you can simply use the TT Free edition.

However, if you stayed in the US for less than 183 days or did not meet the SPT, you are considered as a nonresident and will need to file a Form 1040-NR.  You cannot use TurboTax, instead you will need to visit Sprintax.

Hope this helps!
