I’m going to be making adult content on a website called OnlyFans. It requires me to fill out a W9. I want to make sure I’m doing it right

IRS form W-9 is used to request the taxpayer identification number of a US person and to request certain certifications and claims for exemption.

Enclosed is IRS form W-9 and the form instructions.

Since I’ll be making content but through their website. How would I go about filling it out?

You need to fill it out with your full name, address and SSN, sign the certification in Part II.

You will be paid for your work by the owner of the website and they will issue form 1099-MISC at the beginning of next year so that you can file your taxes,

What's so hard about  filing out  your name and address and Social Security number?  What can't you answer?  Ok you are probably an individual/sole proprietor.  Use your own name.

How would I got about filling out part 3? Would I put myself as an individual or one of the other options??

OnlyFans takes 20% of my initial earnings, does this make it a partnership, C Corp or S Corp? I previously filled out as "sole proprietor" but I know it can't be right considering a portion does go to them.

No.  You are still a sole proprietor or independent contractor and self employed.  That is probably just their fee or commission.  When you file your tax return and fill out schedule C you either enter 100% as income and expense their 20% fee or enter your net amount.

When I click on the form, my name is auto filled in and I am unable to edit it, however it is missing my middle name which I do state on my taxes. For this reason (I believe, as it seems to be the only logical issue) I get the message “validation error, please check your name/business name and TIN”. Is there something a can do to fix this?

Have you solved this problem? I’m interested to know as I’m facing the same issue currently

What problem are you referring to? TurboTax does not support a W-9, nor is there any place to enter it.

Where are you trying to enter the W-9? On the IRS website? In that case, if you have an issue, you will need to contact them.
