I'm auto-renewal customer for several years. Just saw I'm charged $69.99 for Deluxe but can get it right now @ website for $39.99. What gives?? Why $30 more for auto??

And I think you are comparing your Desktop program to the Online web version.  They are different.

The Desktop CD/Download program is here https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/cd-download/ 

The Online versions are here https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/

TurboTax Advantage offers you the convenience of knowing that you'll receive your software each year without remembering to order it.  Additionally, you'll have a complimentary download in your account even before you receive your CD.

The website does offer discounts earlier in the season.  Those prices are subject to change at any time and without notice.  See the TurboTax FAQ below:
