I'm an artist and Texas resident, and I did a festival in NYC at the end of 2021. Do I need to fill out a business allocation form?

I've got my Federal taxes ready to go, but am confused about filing state taxes in New York. I'm a resident of Texas and worked in NYC at the end of the year doing a holiday festival. This event accounted for about 50% of my total income for the year.

How do I know what percent of my income is taxable in New York?

Do I need to fill out a non-resident business allocation form?

You will have to fill out a non-resident NY return along with an IT 204-LL (NY return for LLC's and partnerships ), allocating the income earned in NY. Since it is business income, you also have to pay taxes to NYC. Find out how much you received from the festival, the amount of expenses you had during the that time and allocate it to New York.
