I’m a traveler healthcare professional and it’s my first time filing as a traveler. I only worked at the same state. What should I need to do for filing my taxes?

To answer your question, you need to provide more information.

The first thing to know is how you’ll be classified. If you are considered an employee you will receive a W-2. If considered independent contractor you will receive a 1099 form.

As for the state, it depends on your state of residency and the state of employment. You have to file a resident return for the state that you live in and a non-resident tax return for the state in which you work that year. Each state has its own laws on how income is taxed and how/whether to file a tax return.

How do I file a nonresident state return?
