I’m a resident alien but I received a 1042-S this year for my interest income (code 29). Just to confirm that I can file this as if I received a 1099-INT?

Also is this something I should make sure to clarify with my bank? I sent them a W9 form but I guess they didn’t change my info. Is it correct that a 1099-INT should be issued for resident aliens

Yes, you will file it as if you receive a 1099-INT.

Yes, you should also clarify with the bank to have all your correct and updated personal info from the Form W-9.

It is correct that a 1099-INT is generally issued to US citizens or residents.
