I just started working in November 2017 so I only made $120.00. Do I have to file taxes? Can I claim my daughter age 7 for child refund? Thank you

You do not need to file a tax return. You may file one and claim your child. You'll get $43 "child refund". This assumes you are not married.

The money you hear about people getting for just filing a tax return claiming kids requires you to  have some earned income (wages or self employment). Without earned income, you are not eligible for the "refundable" Earned Income Credit or Additional Child Tax Credit. The refundable credits are based on the amount of your earned income.

A child can be the “qualifying child” dependent of any close relative in the household. If you live with someone else, e.g. your parents, it may be better if they claim your child or if the non-custodial parent claims her

The link provided below is from the IRS. It is a set of questions that will help to determine whether or not you need to file a return.
