I just filled out my info for 2018 and it did not ask me about 2017, in which I made a lot more money. Doesn't that have a an impact?

Did you file a 2017 return?  What are you expecting 2017 to affect on 2018?  At the end you will need to enter the 2027 AGI to verify your efile.  But each year is separate.

Your previous year's income doesn't generally affect your current year's return, unless you have some rather rare carry forward situations.
