I just filed my extension but put the wrong amount of estimated taxes paid. I put more than actually paid. Where do I correct this in TT when I go to file?

(I do not think I need to send in a payment to the IRS since I do think my actual estimated payments are adequate for taxes owed. However, the extension form will show an amount paid that is too high. Will the IRS care?)

No that's ok.  I don't know if the wrong amount will populate the actual return.  Enter the right amounts or change them.

To enter Federal or State Estimated Taxes Paid, including a state estimated payment made in January for the prior year, go to

Federal on left or at top.  Personal (Home & Business)

Deductions and Credits at top

Then scroll way down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid

Estimated Taxes - click the start button
