I have used a CD to download turbo tax in the past. When I go to download it, it asks me tons of questions. How do I get to the part where it populates last years return?

I want to download but don't know if I can use last year's return.

After you download and install TurboTax, if your last year's TurboTax file is in the default TurboTax folder on your computer (My Documents/TurboTax), the software will automatically pick it up and transfer data from your last year's file to this year's return.

Did you install the Desktop program and activate it with the 16 digit License Code?  Sounds like you are in the Online version instead of you program.  

When you start a new return it should find your 2020 return and ask if you want to transfer from it.  Or you can browse to where you saved the .tax2020 file.
